City of Darkness

Yesterday some parts of Singapore encountered blackouts. My estate was also affected.

It was around 1020pm when I was in the kitchen when I heard BANG! Then all power supply went off. I thought only my apartment was affected. Until I went to the kitchen and saw darkness. I could hear people shouting at the Old Airport Hawker centre. Imagine those people who had finished their dinner and was about to pay then the power went off. Wonder they might eat for free. Guess the hawkers must be most badly affected.

Could not find candles, so used my handphone and digicam as source of light. As even the lampost had no power, drivers tend to drive very slowly to avoid an accident. While waiting for power to resume, lied on the main door and play games on my handphone.

After around 1h30mins power resumed. End of City of Darkness. We must learn how to appreciate and conserve electrcity. We are very lucky compared to people living is rural villages.
